When drafting tables in the Manuscript Editor, I am unable to add Categorical variables into the tables as a Data Element.
I run into the same issue in the Export Table module.
Is this a deliberate choice or a potential bug?

Hi @Dnikitin - deliberate choice, although something I’d love to improve on. We don’t currently export categrical data elements because they don’t fit nicely into a single column. We’d probably have to spread across multiple columns, which could introduce confusion.
What format would you hope for, for these exports?

Hi Karl, the preferred format would be just standard table in Word or Excel.
Would it be possible to break out the columns so that the categorical variable parent name is appended to the subgroup? E.g. Race- White, Race- Black, Race-Asian, etc
At this point, I think the second best thing I can do is to create a couple of dichotomous variables of the above and just enter them that way but in the long-term, it would be extremely helpful to be able to input all of them at once and have them featured in the tables alongside the continous and dichotomous variables.
