Error in bulk action Tag with Extracted Data Elements?#451

E

I’m going through a nest and even though I’ve applied the bulk action to tag with extracted data elements to all included studies multiple times, I’m still finding extracted data elements that are not tagged. I’m not getting any kind of error, and it doesn’t seem to matter what timepoint designation the untagged data elements have. Is there something I’m missing for why these data elements are not getting tagged?

Not urgent, just would be convenient to have all the extracted elements pulled to the top of the list for the corrections I’m doing. Let me know if any other info would be helpful, thanks!

Thanks for the heads up Erin - we’ll get back to you tonight with either a resolution or timeline for bug fix!

Hi Erin, we identified the cause. We are applying the tags in the bulk action - the issue is we’re not showing them to you afterwards. Introduced in 1.42.0, we added an audit column for tags, showing the user who applied the tag & when, on hover. In the case of bulk actions, there is no “user” who applied the tag; as such, we’re improperly not displaying those applied tags in the table on AutoLit. To maximize confusion, these tags will still show up as tagged in Qualitative Synthesis (because QLS isn’t concerned with which user applied the tag).

We’ll get a fix out ASAP, and since it’s just a display problem, the fix will be retroactive on all past bulk actions you ran. I’m embarrased this bug was on the site for a week, and I so appreciate you discovering & pointing this out. It was surely confusing to you + many others using this bulk action!

Thanks for figuring it out Karl! The audit column is really useful for QC, by the way!
