When we are conducting an update of an SLR, we want to avoid circumstances where the reference identification numbers assigned by Nested Knowledge overlap with the reference IDs used in the original SLR. It would therefore be very helpful if we could choose the starting number for assigning reference IDs. For example, if my previous project had reference IDs 1-1000, we could ask Nested Knowledge to assign reference IDs starting at 1001 to avoid confusion.

Thanks for the idea & rationale. I’m mildly concerned that this may introduce overlap & confusion between the Ref ID and External ID fields we support. Your past project would show External IDs 1-1000 (which could be imported and displayed on NK), what would prevent you from marking the next imported study as External ID 1001?
What’s more, if you were to import the prior 1000 studies into NK, unless they were in the correct order, the Ref ID and your prior IDs (External IDs) would range 1-1000 but may not match up, which would be terribly confusing!
