Export for "Not relevant" tags#561

When exporting tags it would be helpful to differentiate in the excel output between tags that were marked as not relevant and those that were not applied in any capacity. Currently both show as blank cells, but having the output populate “not relevant” or NR instead would give peace of mind that the reviewer made a conscious decision to note the tag was not relevant rather than having to check whether it was just missed.

That’s a good idea! We’ve heard a variant of this in the past, and I recall the largest complexity being around:

  • Handling different question types (e.g. apply questions should just mark the one tag NR, but select questions should probably mark all options NR)
  • Allowing users to configure what their NR value should be (empty, NA, NR, etc.)

It’s simpler to leave everything “empty” undifferentiated, but there is certainly a difference for FBT.

May I ask which exports in particular you’d like this behavior in? I’d mostly imagine on Inspector tagging export and Export Table Builder / Dashboard.

Absolutely correct on Inspector tagging export! This is likely the most used by our team but Export Table Builder also imporant and Dashboard is a nice-to-have. As far as preferences on how it’s configured, that’s slightly less concerning I’d say as long as it’s standardized you can simply find/replace it after export to whatever you’d like. If there’s a way to elect it to populate on export so it’s not required for everyone if they prefer the blanks, that might be useful.

We’re closing this in favor of building a stronger QA capability within Tag Configuration (akin to the Screening Criteria configuration table).
