Don't reset to default quantitative synthesis view when filters applied#576

When the settings are used to filter studies in quantitative synthesis, the display resets to the default view. It would be nice to keep viewing the data element(s) and drop down studies open/closed without having to reset everything so that the filters are more useful for exploration. Don’t know if it’s possible when the page reloads with the filters, but it would be a big impact on filter usability!

I’m wondering if this was an intentional design choice (e.g. we can’t have stale, now filtered out studies showing), but I can’t rationalize it. I’ll take a look!

Upon review, this would be a relatively expensive change, in terms of how we built this functionality. I won’t get into the details, but to make this update would increase the surface area of code to make this feature work & increase risk of bugs under future changes.

Because this is clearly useful functionality, I’m going to leave this issue open to open to collect feedback/votes.
