Filter on Multiple Study IDs#392

A

Similar to the request mentioned here https://nested-knowledge.nolt.io/281 with less complexity, can you add the ability to filter in Study Inspector on multiple unique article IDs? Example would be if two studies have external IDs “0001” and “0002”, you could input “0001, 0002” or “0001 OR 0002” into the external ID filter.

Personally, I often use the ‘external ID’ variable, however, other IDs such as PMC ID, PubMed ID, and DOI would fall under this category.

Thanks @Abloschichak, agreed the way to do this is by adding new operators in inspector; our downfall has been designing something intuitive for new operator types. In our user testing, most people just don’t find boolean queries intuitive.

After a little thought, why wouldn’t it work to enter the ID queries one at a time? Is there a reason you want multiple references on screen at one time?

(Sorry if this question seems pedantic - it will help us understand what to build!)

Hi Karl - apologies on not seeing this comment until much later, guess my email never pinged me that there was a new comment.

The main reason we’d want multiple references on screen is to apply a bulk action once querying a set of articles that we identified using unique identifiers. Entering ID queries one at a time could also work, but it’s more time intensive as the list of articles grows.
