Manipulating Order Tags are Presented During Screening#444

A

Hello, we appreciate the ability to add tags during the screening process. Would there be a way to manipulate the order in which the tags appear when tagging during screening? Also, could we limit only certain tags to be displayed during screening, while the full list of tags would be available once an article has made it to the extraction phase?

Thanks!

Thanks for surfacing! We have had the request to reorder tags, at least by their root. A related idea to displaying certain tags at different phases of the review is tag archival (#354).

These needs currently seem somewhat niche; Not that I’m opposed (tag re-ordering seems inevitable), but I’d like to see more traction/use cases before endeavoring to build.

It sounds like tag archival would suit our needs and the related request for #354. If manipulating the order via the user end would be time-intensive, another idea my team thought is displaying tags alphabetical with level dependence. e.g. In a 2 level hierarchy, level 1 would be simple alphabetical order, then the child tags for each level 1 tag would be reordered alphabetically underneath each level 1 tag.

Apologies for the delay, not sure how I missed this, but we completed tag reordering in release 1.58.3. To move tags around, click it, and change its Order under Parent. Thanks for this request!

Side note: we don’t love the click-heavy UI here. For technical reasons, implementing a cleaner drag & drop interface for reordering was infeasible. We’re looking forward to a drag & drop future, stay tuned!
